Going Deeper into this Therapeutic Perspective...
Many of our inter-personal relationship issues are the result of long standing, stuck, stressful and repetitive individual, family and relationship bonding patterns; they are a series of semi-conscious patterns of behaviors, beliefs and communication styles. However, when we identify, feel and clear our denied feelings and stuck emotions in conjunction with their associated beliefs - the subconscious roots of these old patterns - we quickly open a door to allow new behaviors, deeper self insights and communication pathways to support a healthier, happier more empowered way of being with self and in relationship.
Most of our 'communication and behavioral programs' operate the same way as computer program - on a hard drive and in the background... With us, our programs... located in our subconscious (hard-drive) are accessed by shifting our attention, our awareness into our body-centered sensory feelings. This shift allows us to access denied feelings connected to unresolved trauma, self limiting belief systems, family of origin 'survival strategies' and other experiences that have locked us into stuck, repetitive relationship patterns.
Through the intentional, conscious practice of continually shifting our 'attention and awareness' from outside of our self and into the sensory-feeling awareness of our physical body in a particular, natural way... a new inner life in relationship with our Self, our partner and others, naturally begins to unfold. When we do this, we can break the cycle of repetitive mental looping thoughts, emotions and behaviors we all acquire through our family of origin, trauma, fears and life experience. For example, some of these 'negative ego' patterns form around themes of judgement, control, rejection, co-dependency, powerlessness, anger, fear, egotism or sense of victimization. --- We can... and need to move beyond these false self programs. Other perspectives call this "mind control programing", "the predator mind", "family of origin miasma" or "human mind virus's"... again just like a computer.
One purpose of counselling and psychotherapy is to support a deeper understanding of the 'negative ego' and the ways in which it literally runs our life; we usually have 4 or 5 'negative ego' programs unconsciously 'installed' into us from early life experiences. We need to witness, feel, root out and clear the denied feelings, emotional trauma and unconscious beliefs that perpetuate these 'negative ego' programs. We need to support and strengthen our connection to the deeper aspects of our Self, namely the wisdom and intelligence of our Thinking-Feeling Heart and Sensory Feeling Body through the intentional, mindful shift of our attention and awareness into our body. This path overrides negative ego patterns and allows for the Authentic Expression and Experience of our Heart*Soul Self... the truth of who we are. When this happens, everything changes!
Collectively we all seem to share the very same negative ego patterns 'running our show', only when theses patterns are cleared, integrated, neutralized or dismantled does our true authenticity, love, power and creatively begin to emerge and unfold. When we shift, everything shifts.
